Those of you who plumped for a Gameweek 5 captain that was included in our captain picks article last week will have been throughly rewarded! Our three premium selections of Harry Kane (£10.8m), Heung-Min Son (£9.3m) and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£7.7m) picked up a whopping 35 FPL points between them, with Kane doing the most damage, gaining 16 FPL points after two goals and an assist in Spurs' 3-3 draw at home to West Ham. Son was just behind him, with a goal and an assist seeing him pick up 13 points, whilst Calvert-Lewin's equaliser in Everton's 2-2 draw in the Merseyside derby gained him six points. Our differential pick was Chelsea's Kai Havertz (£8.4m) and he also found the net in Chelsea's 3-3 draw over Southampton, giving him seven FPL points to take from Gameweek 5. Despite a successful weekend from a captain's standpoint, we're always looking to improve. So with that in mind, we turn our attentions straight to Gameweek 6 as we assess all the viable captain options ahead of Friday's 18.30pm deadline.

PREMIUM OPTIONS

Mo Salah (£12.3m) vs SHU (H)

Liverpool are in somewhat of a mini crisis with the injuries starting to stack up for Jurgen Klopp's men. With the absence of Alisson in goal, Virgil van Dijk in defence and Thiago Alcantara in midfield, the chances of Liverpool keeping clean sheets has dramatically decreased. However, from an FPL perspective this means that they will simply have to outscore the opposition every week. This leads us to shine the light on their already extremely attractive frontline, specifically the mercurial Mo Salah (£12.3m). The FPL listed midfielder scored his sixth league goal of the season in the Merseyside derby and it's clear that he'll be required to keep this run of form going to make up for his side's defensive frailties.

Salah at Anfield usually means goals. The Egyptian has scored three goals in Liverpool's two home league games so far this season (all three in a 4-3 win over Leeds on the opening day) The Reds face Sheffield Utd in Gameweek 6, whom Salah scored against in the same fixture last season. Likely to be one of the most captained players for Gameweek 6 and for good reason, Salah represents an extremely attractive captain pick.

Harry Kane (£10.8m) vs BUR (a)

He can't stop registering FPL returns at the moment. Whether it's goals or assists, Harry Kane (£10.8m) is delivering both for Spurs and for his fantasy football ownership. Having said that, Kane was powerless to prevent his side from throwing away a three goal lead in dramatic fashion to West Ham in Gameweek 5, after working so hard to give them such an advantage.

Five goals and seven assists for the England international so far this season leaves him as the current highest scoring player in FPL thus far. Spurs themselves have racked up 15 goals in their opening five league matches and will be looking to take out their frustrations on Burnley, as they try and bounce back from the draw against West Ham. Kane has previous at Turf Moor, having scored four goals in his last two league appearances away at the Clarets. It would be travesty if you didn't seriously consider him as your captain pick for Gameweek 6.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.8m) vs LEI (H)

At the risk of boring everyone, by once again plumping for the likes of Heung-Min Son and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (not that you shouldn't consider those two). Instead, we're taking you back to an FPL asset who if history is to go by, should be picking up a healthy portion of FPL points in Gameweek 6. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.8m) may not have had the start he would have wanted individually to this season, having not scored in his last five Premier League games. However, we have reason for this being hopefully about to change.

Aubameyang boasts a strong record at the Emirates Stadium against Leicester, Arsenal's Gameweek 6 opponents. The Gabonese international has scored three goals in two home league fixtures against the Foxes and the visitors will travel to North London with numerous injury problems. They will be without the likes of Caglar Soyuncu and Ricardo Pereira in defence and defensive midfielder Wilfred Ndidi. Arsenal will expected to find the net more than once against a side who have conceded eight goals in their last four Premier League games and those who captain Aubameyang could be set to benefit hugely.

DIFFERENTIAL PICK

Sergio Aguero (£10.4m) vs WHU (a)

The fact that this man is considered a differential pick is bonkers in itself really. However, injury has seen Man City forward and genuine FPL legend Sergio Aguero (£10.4m) slip out of everyone's thoughts when it comes to fantasy football purposes. However, that could all be set to change very soon after the Argentinian made his long awaited first league start of the season in Gameweek 5.

With Gabriel Jesus injured, Aguero will surely be set to lead the line for Man City away to West Ham in Gameweek 6. You don't need us to tell you what Aguero is capable of if he has a good day at the office. With only 1.9% ownership, he may be the differential pick of the season so far. Could we all be jumping up and shouting "AGUEROOOOOOOO" at the top of our lungs just like old times as he completes his hat-trick in Gameweek 6? Only time will tell!
