Gameweek 35+ saw some monster FPL points hauls with none more so than from West Ham's Michail Antonio (£7.0m). The midfielder has been utilised as a striker by Hammers boss David Moyes and the move paid off handsomely here as Antonio bagged all four goals in West Ham's 0-4 win away at relegated Norwich City, earning a whopping 26 FPL points! We'd also like to commend Man City's Raheem Sterling (£11.8m) for his hat-trick against Brighton, giving him 21 FPL points. Although it would have been nice for him to have done this in either of the two gameweeks prior to Gameweek 35+, when we had selected him as our differential captain pick!
The Man Utd attacking headlines were written by Anthony Martial (£8.4m), with a goal and an assist in a 2-2 draw vs Southampton, whilst Wolves' Raul Jimenez (£8.1m) continued his record of not blanking in four consecutive league matches, after scoring a penalty against Everton. With some tasty fixtures on the horizon and the potential for more big points hauls ahead in Gameweek 36+, we assess the key captain options ahead of Tuesday's 19:15 deadline.
PREMIUM OPTIONS
Christian Pulisic (£7.3m) vs NOR (H)
The opposition speaks for itself. Right now, you won't find a more enticing fixture to have a captain playing in than Norwich. Relegated and rubbish, the Canaries have well and truly given up on their season. Chelsea are looking to follow West Ham's lead in inflicting another beating on the basement side and this is a match they must win in their race to finish in the Champions League places. This leads us to mark Christian Pulisic (£7.3m) as a premium captain pick.
Chelsea's 'Captain America' has three goals and three assists since the season's resumption, having started in all but one game. He will certainly be afforded chances against Norwich and as long as he is clinical and shows the same cutting edge that he has in the past six gameweeks, then he will surely add to the 39 FPL points already garnered within that period.
Raheem Sterling (£11.8m) vs BOU (H)
Congratulations are in order for Man City's Raheem Sterling (£11.8m), who has graduated from a differential pick in recent gameweeks to become a premium captain pick after another big points haul against Brighton in Gameweek 35+. He has five goals and three assists in his last four Premier League appearances, accumulating 48 FPL points within that period.
Sterling loves a goal against Bournemouth and with manager Eddie Howe set to be without key defender Nathan Ake through injury, the Cherries look ripe for another Sterling salvo. Rotation will always be an issue with Pep Guardiola, but Sterling was on the bench in Gameweek 34+ against Newcastle so it would make sense if he was to start in this one with Mahrez dropping to the bench instead.
Anthony Martial (£8.4m) vs CRY (a)
Continuing his excellent recent run of form for Man Utd in Gameweek 35+ was Anthony Martial, (£8.4m) with the FPL-listed midfielder picking up 13 points following a goal and an assist against Southampton. However, the Red Devils suffered a blow in their quest to finish in the top four, conceding a late leveller to draw 2-2. This leaves no room for error in their final three league games and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be expecting a reaction from his players away at Crystal Palace in Gameweek 36+.
Martial has racked up 57 FPL points in his last five Premier League appearances and against a Palace side who have conceded 13 goals in their last five games, the signs look good for the Frenchman in Gameweek 36+. An enticing premium captaincy option when you consider he has six attacking returns in his last three league matches.
DIFFERENTIAL CHOICE
Phil Foden (£5.5m) vs BOU (H)
It's never easy to predict a Pep Guardiola starting line-up. However, after his benching in Gameweek 35+, we're going to put our necks on the line and state that Phil Foden (£5.5m) is a cert to start for Man City against Bournemouth in Gameweek 36+. With Mahrez playing 90 minutes at the weekend, he looks the most likely candidate to drop out, with Foden playing as part of a front three. This gives the youngster an incredibly high ceiling in terms of FPL points.
With Bournemouth staring down the barrel of relegation, they may have to come out and attack Man City, which ultimately could be disastrous for them but not for owners of Foden. The City academy graduate has scored three goals in his last three home starts, acquiring 31 FPL points. Playing as part of a front three, he will be afforded chances and looks an incredible value differential captain for Gameweek 36+.
