LULU SUN VS LIN ZHU PREDICTION

After registering her first ever top-ten win when she saw off the eighth-seeded Zheng Qinwen in the first round, qualifier Lulu Sun backed that up with another three-set victory over Yulia Starodubtsewa on Wednesday. For someone appearing in a Grand Slam main draw for only the second time in their career, it has been one of the stories of the first few days at Wimbledon that Sun has defied the odds.

Lin Zhu is also breaking new ground however, with the Chinese player having never previously gone beyond the second round in the Singles at Wimbledon, this being her sixth attempt. The 30-year-old has also taken the scalp of a seed at SW19 this week, eliminating Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in straight sets in the second round.

Both players will be eyeing this as an excellent opportunity to reach the last 16, and Lulu Sun in particular will be heading into this contest with nothing to lose having far outperformed expectations so far. The stage is set for an enthralling contest, but we’re backing the more experienced Lin Zhu to outlast her plucky opponent.
