Having averaged over 100 in all four of his matches at the PDC World Darts Championship, Michael van Gerwen has undoubtedly been the best player at Alexandra Palace, and only Mensur Suljovic in the third round has been able to lay a glove on him. He will take some beating, and it is difficult to see Dimitri Van den Bergh having much success over such a long format. The Belgian has been a consistent performer over the last couple of weeks to make his first semi-final at this tournament, but he has not reached the levels required to topple MVG. Backing the Dutchman with a handicap of -2.5 sets could be worthwhile in the betting markets.
