Rob Cross claimed the scalp of World Matchplay champion Peter Wright in the first round with his superior doubling the difference between the two players and that will have done his confidence the world of good as he has generally under-performed in TV tournaments over the course of the last couple of years. In Krzysztof Ratajski though, he faces an accomplished performer who has reached at least the quarter-finals of three major tournaments. The Polish Eagle fought back from a set down to overcome Nathan Aspinall in the first round and looks primed for a deep run in Leicester. He has performed more consistently than Cross in recent times and could well edge a tight contest here.
