Despite being renowned as a power scorer rather than a doubles specialist, the World Grand Prix is in fact the only major in which Dave Chisnall can call himself a two-time finalist, and his record here in recent years in particularly impressive as he has reached at least the quarter-finals in the last three iterations. His first-round win over in-form Mensur Suljovic certainly speaks to a man who is comfortable with the format, but he will likely need another strong performance to overcome tournament debutant Ross Smith here, who averaged 91.45 in his win over Joe Cullen. Chizzy’s experience at this level could play a key part though, and he can be fancied to edge this one in a match likely to contain plenty of 180s.
