THE PREDICTION

Jonny Clayton produced an accomplished display on Wednesday evening to see off Jose de Sousa, averaging 94.95 and hitting 64.7% of his finishing doubles as he booked his place in the World Grand Prix quarter-finals for the first time in his career. The Welshman has been installed as second favourite for the title behind compatriot Gerwyn Price but third in the bookies is his immediate opponent. Ratajski is a tricky customer and very rarely puts in a sub-par performance, and Clayton knows that if he is below his best then the Polish Eagle – who saw off former world champion Rob Cross in the second round – will be there to capitalise. The Ferret does not look like taking his foot off the gas though, and is tipped to progress here with Ratajski likely to nick at least a set.
