THE PREDICTION
The defending champion Michael van Gerwen would most likely have hoped for a much easier first round draw than the dangerous Krzysztof Ratajski as he begins his campaign for a sixth World Grand Prix title. Coming into this tournament Van Gerwen is not the dominant force he has been in past years and a short format match against such an accomplished opponent is certainly a huge test for the Dutchman. Ratajski has surged into the top 16 and seems set to keep on rising, there is no doubt that he has the game to go deep in the major tournaments, but this is of course an awfully difficult opening round tie for him also. The value in this match seems to be in the total sets market, with over 2.5 looking like a good option as this contest has the real potential to go the distance.
