THE PREDICTION
Gabriel Clemens enjoyed an excellent 2-0 victory against the number six seed Nathan Aspinall on his debut at the World Grand Prix. The German Giant was not in good form coming into the tournament but he showed no signs of a lack of belief and gave a very accomplished performance to move through to round two. Jeffrey de Zwaan made it through to this stage of the World Grand Prix for the third year in a row with a 2-1 victory against Jamie Hughes and he is looking to reach the quarter-finals for the first time. The Dutchman only received a call-up for the tournament on Monday following Stephen Bunting’s positive coronavirus test but he did not look under-prepared and his display against Hughes was fairly solid. Clemens just has the edge in terms of consistency in this match-up and he is tipped to move through to the last eight. Both players are capable of hitting a good number of 180s when they are in a rhythm and there looks to be a good chance that we will see over 7.5 180s scored in this contest.
