THE PREDICTION
The World Grand Prix holds very good memories for Daryl Gurney as it was at this tournament three years ago where he won his first ever PDC major title. The 2020 edition may be at a different venue - and also behind closed doors - but SuperChin will still be feeling good about his chances of a good run at the Ricoh Arena this week. This is a tough opening match for the Northern Irishman though, as Cullen leads their head-to-head record and has won their last three meetings. The latest triumph for Cullen against Gurney came only last month on his way to reaching the final of a Players Championship event and the Rockstar followed that up with another semi-final appearance a couple of days later. A slight preference is given to a Gurney victory - mainly due to his greater success in the double start format - the main betting tip, however, is for Cullen to score more than 2.5 180’s - he notched four in his round one game last year and in a match which has the potential to go the distance he is capable of hitting a total of at least three.
