THE PREDICTION
James Wade and Stephen Bunting last met on the Alexandra Palace stage exactly six years ago and it was Bunting who took the honours on that occasion as he coasted to a 4-1 victory on his way to reaching the quarter-finals on his debut at the PDC World Championship. That was actually Bunting’s third consecutive success against Wade on TV in 2014, much time has passed since then though, and it will be considered a surprise if The Bullet comes out on top on this occasion. Wade’s consistency, along with his ability to produce the goods at key moments have been in evidence in big tournaments over the last few months and he looks well set to gain revenge for the defeat he suffered against Bunting here in 2014 - we may well even see a 4-1 win in favour of The Machine.
