Mickey Mansell ended his winless run on the Alexandra Palace stage with an emphatic 3-0 victory against New Zealand’s Haupai Puha in round one and he may be quietly confident of making it two wins in a row as he defeated Ricky Evans when they met only last month in a tour event. Evans of course will have other ideas and he is striving to make it through to the last 32 at the PDC World Championship for the second year in succession. The winner of this contest will meet Michael van Gerwen so a deep run in the tournament for either is very unlikely to occur but the prize money on offer and the chance to take on the world number one is a big incentive for both nonetheless. Evans is slightly favoured to win this game but the main betting preference is for the match to last over 4.5 sets.
