World champion Peter Wright is the headline act on night one at the 2020-21 PDC World Championship and he starts the defence of his title against Steve West - who successfully came through his opening round tie against Indian qualifier Amit Gilitwala without dropping a set earlier this evening. Snakebite obviously starts as a big favourite to progress to the third round but he won’t have it all his own way against an experienced opponent who has defeated both Michael van Gerwen and Phil Taylor in major PDC tournaments during his career. Wright will probably have to dig deep if he is to see off the challenge of West and we might well see this game go into a deciding set. West with a +1.5 start on the handicap is the betting tip.
