THE PREDICTION
Krzysztof Ratajski has been right up there as one of the most consistent players on the circuit over the last couple of years and he is without doubt capable of a good run at Ally Pally this year. The draw is tough for The Polish Eagle though and his first obstacle is a tricky second round tie against Ryan Joyce who reached the quarter-finals here two years ago. Joyce came through a thrilling first round game against Karel Sedlacek - in which his Czech opponent missed six match darts - to set up this game against the number 15 seed and so he will certainly be more battle hardened than the higher ranked player who had a bye through to round two. Still, there is no doubt that Ratajski has the quality to prevail here but he might well have to go the distance to see off his dogged opponent.
