THE PREDICTION
John Henderson squeezed through his first-round match against Marko Kantele on Friday evening although by his own admission he did not play to the standard he is capable of and he will certainly need to improve if he is to trouble Jonny Clayton here. The Ferret has had an excellent year having reached the semi-finals of both the UK Open and the European Championship before triumphing at the World Cup of Darts alongside fellow Welshman Gerwyn Price. He will be quietly expecting a good run at Ally Pally and he is more than capable of doing so but he must be wary of the threat posed by The Highlander, who can go on a roll once he gets into his rhythm. The edge just goes to Clayton though, who is fancied progress by a set score of 3-1.
