THE PREDICTION
Glen Durrant is not arriving at the 2020-21 PDC World Championship in the type of form which saw him reach the quarter-finals on his debut at Ally Pally last year. Duzza tested positive for Covid-19 shortly after winning the Premier League title in October and since returning to action his standard has been well below the level at which he was producing during his successful Premier League campaign. Duzza would normally be expected to win this game against Diogo Portela comfortably, but one can’t be sure that the Teesider will perform as consistently as we are used to seeing, so some caution is advised if you are having a wager. Even if Durrant does come through successfully he is unlikely to do so in straight sets, so a bet on Portela with a +2.5 set start could be the value option here.
