THE PREDICTION

Former BDO World Champion Stephen Bunting reached the last 16 after he came back from two sets behind to seal a 4-2 victory against number seven seed James Wade, who recorded a nine-dart finish. Despite that perfect leg of darts, it was a poor performance from Wade and Bunting took full advantage; he is now aiming for a place in the last eight at Ally Pally for the first time since the 2014-15 PDC World Championship. The Bullet faces a tough task here though against Ryan Searle who is through to the fourth round for the second time in three years. Searle may be the unseeded player but it would not be considered a real upset if he were to oust his higher-ranked opponent from the tournament as ‘Heavy Metal’ has the enough quality and composure to edge out Bunting in a close contest. Whatever the outcome, this match looks capable of lasting at least six sets so a bet on over 5.5 sets is appealing and there also looks to be value in opting for a total of over 11.5 180s in the match - considering that the pair scored a combined total of 14 180s in the previous round.
