THE PREDICTION

Glen Durrant’s form had not been good coming into this tournament but his performance against Danny Baggish on Monday night was more akin to the Duzza we have come to expect, one feels that he will need to step things up another notch though if he is to overcome Dirk van Duijvenbode as the Dutchman is looking in excellent shape. Van Duijvenbode’s game has gone from strength to strength over the last few months, his display against Adam Hunt in round three where he averaged 104.09 just oozed class and a repeat really would leave Durrant with a huge task on his hands. The three-time BDO World Champion obviously has pedigree and experience on his side but it is hard to ignore how comfortable Van Duijvenbode is on the big stage and so we certainly look set for a very intriguing contest. Van Duijvenbode is predicted to win a very close encounter, but that is not a very strong fancy, the main betting tip is for the match to last over 5.5 sets.
