THE PREDICTION

Wayne Jones is certainly no stranger to the PDC World Championship but this is only his second appearance in six years and he hasn’t won a game at Alexandra Palace since December 2011. Irish youngster Ciran Teehan has much less experience, though he did make it through round one on his debut last year with an impressive 3-0 win against Ross Smith and then he only bowed out in a last set decider against Mervyn King in round two. Teehan is the underdog in this game but there are enough reasons to believe that he could be the value pick here in a game which really could go either way.
