The PDC World Championship has certainly brought out the best in Luke Humphries over the last couple of years as the former PDC World Youth Champion has reached the quarter-finals in each of the last two editions of the tournament. His opponent in this match reached a World Championship quarter-final before Humphries was even born, but that run to the last eight at the BDO World Championship in 1990 remains as Paul Lim’s best ever showing in either code and the likeable veteran is expected to face a round one exit here against a player who has won eight of his last ten matches on this stage.
