THE PREDICTION

Both of these players are competing at the PDC World Championship for the second time and coincidentally they both faced Steve Lennon in the first round on their previous appearance at Alexandra Palace. Rydz has happier memories of his World Championship debut than Bailey does, as he claimed a 3-2 win against Lennon 12 months ago, while Bailey averaged just 80 in a 3-0 loss against the same opponent a year earlier. Bailey will surely improve on that performance, but he still looks set for a first round exit against a player who is improving all of the time. Wins over both Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price on the tour this year have shown what Rydz is capable of and he is tipped to make it through to round two at the World Championship for the second successive year.
