• Dave Chisnall’s impressive display of clinical finishing helped him come through round two with a 3-1 victory against Dutchman Vincent van der Voort.

• Jeffrey de Zwaan made it through to the last 32 at the PDC World Championship for the first time courtesy of a come-from-behind win against Darin Young, in a match where De Zwaan hit eight 180s.
• Young had led 2-1 and looked on his way to completing a Dutch double – having put De Zwaan’s countryman Raymond van Barneveld out of the tournament in round one – before De Zwaan dug deep to win the remaining two sets.
• De Zwaan has a good record against Chizzy with five wins from their previous seven encounters. This includes an excellent victory in the quarter-finals at the 2018 World Matchplay when De Zwaan averaged 103. Chisnall did come out on top the last time they met though, with a 6-5 win at the Gibraltar Darts Trophy three months ago.

THE PREDICTION

This should be a match to savour between two heavy scorers who are capable of bursts of excellence which should see this encounter move at quite a pace. Chisnall starts as the favourite; he is playing well and carrying plenty of belief, but his aspirations of a deep run in the tournament will really be put to the test against De Zwaan. The Dutchman has tasted success on the big stage against Chisnall twice previously; his win in a best-of-31 legs format at the 2018 World Matchplay was a high-quality performance, and the fact he also holds a 5-2 advantage in their head-to-head record means he won’t be lacking confidence.

It’s tough to pick a winner but Chizzy is just tipped to edge though 4-3. The main prediction for this game is for over 5.5 sets and in a match capable of going the distance over 14.5 180s is also a distinct possibility.
