INDIA FORM: BOUNCING BACK WITH CRUCIAL WIN OVER RIVALS
Taking on Pakistan this past weekend, India once again were not fully functioning with the quality and control that we expect from them when batting. However, they did enough to chase down the 106 runs needed to beat their arch-rivals, reaching the target with seven balls to spare, recording their first points of the tournament.
SRI LANKA FORM: CONSECUTIVE DEFEATS SEES SRI LANKA ALREADY ON THE BRINK
It has been a desperately disappointing tournament so far from a Sri Lankan perspective and that has been reflected in their first pair of results. Losses against both Pakistan and Australia leaves them still without a point to their name so far and they are yet to even pass 100 runs with the bat across a single innings.
INDIA BETTING ANALYSIS
When taking into account India’s batting fragilities, investment in the bowling attack may be the way to go for bettors. Arundhati Reddy was excellent against Pakistan, coming away with figures of 3-19 from her four overs. She currently averages two-wickets per game over the course of the tournament and warrants backing here to gain another two scalps at least via the ‘Bowler Milestones’ market.
SRI LANKA BETTING ANALYSIS
So far, Sri Lanka are yet to put together a first wicket partnership that has reached double-figures at the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Nine runs were added against Pakistan before the first wicket went down and it got worse vs Australia, with only 6 runs on the board before Vishmi Gunaratne was dismissed. The ‘Team - Opening Partnership Total’ market is in play for bettors, who can back Sri Lanka to record under 14.5 runs for the first wicket at fairly good odds.
INDIA VS SRI LANKA EXPERT PREDICTION
India have been at nowhere near their best across this tournament so far, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. In a competition like this it’s not about where you start, it’s where you finish and if India can progressively get better game-by-game, it will leave them in a very good spot come the business end of the Women’s T20 World Cup. Sri Lanka though, have had a really tough time of it and haven’t been at the level required to be competitive. Expect India to beat them fairly comfortably.
