NORTHERN SUPERCHARGERS MEN FORM: BROOK & POORAN FIRE SUPERCHARGERS TO FIRST WIN OF 2024
Bolstered by an overseas player without jetlag and the return of Harry Brook, Northern Superchargers powered past Southern Brave. Brook hit an unbeaten 34 to help his side home, whilst West India white ball star Nicholas Pooran top-scored with a brutal 62 from 34 balls.

A big source of Oval Invincibles’ success in 2024 so far has the benefit of a genuine world class overseas performer in Adam Zampa, who is proving well worth the investment in him. The Australian international is coming off the back of consecutive three-wicket-hauls and such form warrants investment from bettors. Back Zampa to gain over 1.5 wickets again on this occasion.

Hitting maximums is a key strength of Pooran and you could argue that no one in world cricket is as powerful. Consider backing him to strike the most sixes this time around as well.
Harry Brook was also impressive in his first men’s Hundred appearance of 2024 and everyone now knows just how good he is. The England star is another capable on his day of playing a memorable individual innings and having Pooran just above him takes a bit of pressure of Brook’s shoulders What that in mind, backing him to finish as the Superchargers top battle in this encounter looks tempting.

Earlier in the tournament, Oval Invincibles would have been pegged as almost certainties to win this one, but now the outcome is nowhere near as straightforward. Having Pooran and Brook within their line-up changes the complexion of Northern Superchargers’ batting, which is now capable of matching that of the hosts, especially if one of Pooran or Brook fires.
The above makes this game a tricky one to call and the safer move may be to back an individual player market, specifically one involving Brook. Playing on what is usually a great batting pitch at the Kia Oval, Brook may be in line to cash in offensively and backing him to score 30+ runs via the ‘Batter Milestones’ market is hard to turn down from a value perspective.
