THE TEAM NEWS

LANCASHIRE LIGHTNING

  • Lancashire Lightning picked up their fourth win of the campaign on Friday night as they eased past the Durham Jets once again and they continue to sit top of the North Group after six matches.
  • Spinner Matt Parkinson continued his fine form taking 4/30 taking his total to ten in his four matches played, while Liam Livingstone impressed yet again with both bat and ball and his smashed 70 from 48 balls when opening the innings to get their run chase off to a fine start, after having chipped in with two wickets.
  • They will have the same set of players at their disposal for this televised game, and given their outstanding recent form as one of the two remaining unbeaten teams in the tournament, they will surely go unchanged for this one.

NOTTS OUTLAWS

  • Notts Outlaws bounced back from their unlikely defeat to Leicestershire to comprehensively beat Birmingham Bears on Friday night by 71 runs to register their third win in their last four games which has catapulted them into third in the North Group.
  • Opener Joe Clarke got them off to a good start with a half century and then wicketkeeper/batsman Tom Moores blasted 69 from just 38 balls to help them reach a total of 184/4 before their bowling unit skittled the Bears for just 113.
  • The Outlaws have added Chris Nash, Zak Chappell and Jake Ball to the eleven that beat the Bears on Friday night, but there is every chance that they are unchanged following that impressive victory.

THE PREDICTION

Both the Lancashire Lightning and Notts Outlaws come into this game in strong form and they look strong candidates to reach the knockout phase in two of the top four positions in the North Group even before the halfway mark. The Lightning has a strong and settled team with their two Australians complementing a strong line-up. The Outlaws have good strength and depth themselves with a top class bowling attack and strong batting options. Runs on the board will be key to success and the bowling units will fancy their chances of defending a par score. Preference goes to the team batting first given there is so little to choose between the two quality sides.
