THE PREDICTION
After a frustrating start to their Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy campaign, Chandigarh made a huge statement with a sensational victory over Manipur. Their opening clash with Nagaland was abandoned without a ball being bowled but they wasted little time in putting that annoyance behind them as they amassed 178/5 before some stunning bowling saw them reduce their opponents to 26/7. They held Manipur to just 68/8 from their 20 overs which saw them earn a 110-run victory and they will be confident of building on that as they take on Mizoram. They have lost their opening two matches of the competition by ten wickets and 130 runs and with a miserable showing last time out as they managed just 100 runs in response to allowing 230, they are likely to fall short once again with Chandigarh set to be far too strong for them.
