THE LOWDOWN
MULTAN SULTANS
- Multan Sultans are all set to take on the same team they defeated in Wednesday’s qualifier match by 28 runs after their score of 163/2 turned out to be more than enough as they reduced Lahore Qalandars to 135/9 in response.
- The Sultans are not expected to change anything heading into this final, with Mohammad Rizwan and Shan Masood opening together before a strong middle order follows, whilst Imran Tahir and Khushdil Shah provides captain Rizwan with a two extremely potent spin-bowling options.
LAHORE QALANDARS
- After being forced into playing the second eliminator match by the Sultans, Lahore Qalandars triumphed over Islamabad United by six runs in an amazing back-and-forth contest this past Friday, ultimately bowling out their opponents for 162 defending their score of 168/7.
- Like Multan, it would be a surprise if Lahore were to make any changes unless any late injuries crop up, with fast bowlers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf spearheading the bowling whilst PSL 7 top run-scorer Fakhar Zaman will be hoping to at least repeat his half-century that he scored against the Sultans in the qualifier match.

A sold-out crowd at the Gaddafi Stadium are in for a treat here as these two sides do battle for the fourth time across this season’s PSL. Multan Sultans have been by far the most consistent side throughout the competition, triumphing in ten of their 11 games played and winning the league stage comfortably. However, Lahore Qalandars boasts a number of genuine world class international game-changers within their side, who have the potential to take this match away from Multan in an instant.
