A List Of All Pakistan Super League Winners

The eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League gets underway on Monday, which sees six established franchises do battle to lift the trophy. When taking into account that the tournament has now taken place seven times, we've had seven previous winners of the competition. The question though, is which team can claim to be the most successful in PSL history and are any sides still waiting for that illusive first title?

The table below, shows the records of all six PSL franchises when it comes to finals, highlighting not only those years in which they won the tournament, but also those where they finished as runners-up.

The most intriguing stand-out from the table above is that all six franchises have won the Pakistan Super League at least once since their respective formations. No team will come into PSL 8 having not lifted the trophy at any point. However, one side stands out from the rest, that being Islamabad United, who are the only franchise to have won the competition twice, first in 2016 (PSL 1) before repeating the feat in 2018 (PSL 3).

The first two PSL editions ended in heartbreak for Quetta Gladiators, who were beaten finalists on both occasions. However, they finally rid themselves of the bridesmaids tag in 2019 when they overcame Peshawar Zalmi in the final of PSL 4. Speaking of Zalmi, after winning the tournament in 2017, they then proceeded to finish runners-up in three of the next four seasons. The final team to lift the trophy were Lahore Qalandars, who did so in the most recent edition of the PSL in 2022, when they overcame 2021 winners Multan Sultans in the final.
