It goes without saying that MI New York needs their best batters to fire if they are to pull off an upset here. Nicholas Pooran is one such player, the West Indians big-hitting exploits being notorious around the cricketing world. Multiple markets offer value when it comes to Pooran and small stakes on him to be MI New York’s top run-scorer and top six-hitter in this particular contest should both offer a lucrative return.
Taking wickets has not been easy for any MI New York bowler, but Trent Boult’s ability has shone through at times. The New Zealander has five wickets in three games and always poses a substantial threat both in the powerplay and at the death. Investment in Boult is never a wasted bet and he warrants backing to take 2+ wickets here.

Smith’s ability to stay at the crease and accumulate makes him well worth backing to put up another 30+ runs on this occasion.

You have to feel that MI New York will get things together at some point and potentially go on a winning run to ensure they end the group stage inside those all-important play-off places. But this Washington Freedom side are playing with such verve and confidence at the moment, that it’s hard to see them being stopped.
Washington’s bowling has been consistently good and could very easily put MI New York on the back foot early on, depending on whether they bat first or second. It is this that should ultimately lay down the groundworks for an eventually Freedom victory in this one.
