GALLE MARVELS FORM: SLENDER UP AT THE TOP

Galle Marvels’ squad looks quite strong and there is definitely some quality at the top of the order but there does appear to be a bit of reliance on former England international Alex Hales. Beyond that, though, there does not appear that much with the better part of their squad being the spin department with the likes of Jeffrey Vandersay and Mujeeb Ur Rahman.

LAST THREE: LLW

JAFFNA KINGS FORM: INEXPERIENCED JAFFNA KINGS

The Jaffna Kings endured a difficult 2023 campaign in which they managed just three victories with five losses in their season before losing their eliminator. Avishka Gunawardene’s side do not have the most experienced squad but do have quality sprinkled throughout with the likes of Pathum Nissanka, Asitha Fernando, Dhananjaya de Silva, Kusal Mendis and Azmatullah Omarzai.

LAST THREE: LLL

GALLE MARVELS BETTING ANALYSIS

Captained by Niroshan Dickwella, Galle Marvels, as mentioned, are quite reliant on Nottinghamshire batter Alex Hales right at the top. Hales, therefore, to be their best batter (5/2) is the most reasonable and value bet for this one.

As for the bowling, pace off was the way to go in the opening match of the tournament in Pallekele and if that is to be successful for either the Marvels or the Kings, albeit in Galle, then Mujeeb Ur Rahman to be Galle’s best bowler (7/2) would seem a sensible bet.

JAFFNA KINGS BETTING ANALYSIS

The Jaffna Kings are heavily reliant on a handful of players, as has been mentioned, but the overall standout of those players, especially with the bat, is Kusal Mendis. Mendis to be their top batter (3/1) appears the way to go for this one.

With the ball, the Jaffna Kings have quite a few pace off bowlers of their own and another Afghanistan international spinner would appear the best bet to be their best bowler. Noor Ahmad (7/2) provides value in that regard.

GALLE MARVELS VS JAFFNA KINGS EXPERT PREDICTION

Galle Marvels were the better side between themselves and Jaffna Kings last year and they are expected to go deeper into this tournament than the Kings once again this time around, despite the fact their opposition have a bit more of a well rounded and well-balanced squad. It could prove to be quite a close encounter between these two sides but, with their home advantage, Galle Marvels should come out on top.
