• Netherlands were hugely disappointing in last year’s T20 World Cup and they’ll be hoping to use this one-off T20 fixture to see where their side currently stands in this format of the game, with strong individual performances from players making them more likely to be selected for the three upcoming ODIs.
• Pieter Seelaar captains the tourists, who will no doubt look to players such as Logan van Beek for inspiration, the 31-year-old plays domestic cricket in New Zealand and has won consecutive Super Smash titles.

THE PREDICTION

Despite New Zealand being without several key names, it is a testament to their strength-in-depth that they have still managed to name an extremely competitive squad here who will be expected to overcome the Netherlands. For the tourists, this is very much a free hit with little pressure on them and their main focus will no doubt be centred upon the upcoming ODIs, which represent part of the World Cup Super League.
