THE TEAM NEWS

INDIA

  • India wrapped up the ODI series against West Indies with a second successive win and while they were not as dominant as the first clash, they were still comfortable victors and will look to secure the whitewash in this third and final contest.
  • The Indians got off to a poor start with the bat but recovered well enough before the bowling unit did its job with Prasidh Krishna producing an excellent effort to finish with dazzling figures of 4-12 from nine overs to help his side to a 44-run victory.

WEST INDIES

  • West Indies put up more of a fight than their woeful effort in the opening clash of the series but it was still not enough as they succumbed to a second successive defeat and now they have just pride at stake as they aim to avoid a 3-0 series defeat.
  • The bowlers did their job and limited India to 237/9 which should have been a reachable target but their batsmen failed to fire once again and they were skittled for 193 with only two players able to score more than 30 runs.

THE PREDICTION

India secured an unassailable lead in their ODI series with West Indies and despite winning the second clash by a comfortable margin, they will be desperate to produce a better performance in this third and final clash. The Indians underwhelmed with the bat and will be aiming for more against a side with nothing to lose. The Windies were much-improved in the second game after a seriously poor performance in the opening game but with India set to be more focused in this final clash after they were given a slight scare last time out, another big win is on the cards for the hosts.
