THE TEAM NEWS

SUNRISERS HYDERABAD

  • · Sunrisers Hyderabad’s latest defeat at the hands of Punjab Kings saw their hopes of qualifying for the IPL play-offs take a huge blow with them rock bottom of the table on just two points.
  • · SRH fast bowler T. Natarajan is expected to be absent once again due to being in isolation having tested positive for Covid-19, whilst Australian opener David Warner could be dropped due to his desperately poor form with the bat.

RAJASTHAN ROYALS

  • · Rajasthan Royals were unable to back up their win over Punjab Kings, falling to a 33-run loss to Delhi Capitals last time out, which leaves them locked on eight points with Kolkata Knight Riders, the Kings and Mumbai Indians.
  • · Both big hitting opener Evin Lewis and bowler Chris Morris did not feature against Delhi due to injuries and each remain doubtful for the one, whilst New Zealand international Glenn Phillips may come into the side.

THE PREDICTION

Rajasthan Royals still have a very realistic chance of making the play-offs, but cannot afford a slip up here against a Sunrisers Hyderabad side with confidence, momentum and form at an all-time low. It’s clear that a big shake up is on the horizon for the franchise ahead of the upcoming 2022 IPL mega auction and with so many players out of form particularly with the bar, it’s difficult to see where the runs will come from here. Ultimately, the Royals should be in a position to capitalise on SRH’s frailties and secure what would be a crucial victory for themselves in this one.
