- Kusal Mendis will captain the side again in the absence of the injured Dasun Shanaka and Matheesha Pathirana also misses out, but Sadeera Samarawickrama was able to play against Afghanistan despite being struck on the hand vs England and should be fine to feature again here.
THE PREDICTION
After putting themselves back into semi-final contention, that loss to Afghanistan was a hammer-blow for Sri Lanka and it’s hard to see them coming back from it. On what is likely to be a good batting surface in Mumbai, expect India’s daunting top order to cash in against a weak bowling attack. It goes without saying that India have all bases covered with the ball and their home support adds an extra layer of intimidation. Back them to make it seven straight group stage victories.
