THE LOWDOWN
Durham go into their first Bob Willis Trophy fixture having named wicketkeeper Ned Eckersley as their new red ball captain with Australian overseas star Cameron Bancroft unavailable to play for Durham this season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Yorkshire will be also be without their overseas player, Indian spin bowler Ravi Ashwin. David Willey is unavailable due to England limited overs duty, however top order batsman Dawid Malan is set to make his debut for the White Rose.
THE PREDICTION
Yorkshire will be among the favourites to win the Bob Willis Trophy despite missing a couple of key players. Malan is set to prove a strong acquisition and with the likes of Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Harry Brook and Ben Coad to call upon, Steven Patterson’s side look a very strong outfit. Against a Durham team who could really struggle in red ball cricket this season without star batsman Bancroft, Yorkshire should come through with victory here.
