THE LOWDOWN
Michael Conlan (15-0) will put his unbeaten record on the line as he goes in search of the WBA interim world featherweight title. He has won over half of his bouts to date by KO (eight) and has fought some solid opponents of late, the latest of which was Ionut Baluta back in April. He won a majority decision in that bout to claim the WBO international super bantamweight title and will fancy his chances of building to that success.
TJ Doheny (22-2) will stand in his way and with some impressive KO stats, he will be hopeful that his power can help him get the better of his Irish compatriot. He comes into this on the back of a loss however, losing a unanimous decision against Baluta which does not bode well. He has in fact lost two of his last three bouts with Daniel Roman also getting the better of him to end his perfect record.
THE PREDICTION
This should be a good tussle between Irishmen Michael Conlan and TJ Doheny with some bad blood between the pair evident in the build-up. Conlan has yet to taste defeat in his professional career while Doheny has suffered two losses in his last three bouts. The latest of those defeats came against the same opponent that Conlan saw off in his last fight and he should be able to extend his winning streak to 16 bouts.
