Former British lightweight champion Lewis Ritson (20-1, 12KOs) returns the ring almost a year after his last bout to take on Miguel Vazquez for the WBA Intercontinental super-lightweight title. Ritson has won three fights in a row since moving up to super-lightweight after his defeat against Francesco Patera in October 2018.
Former world champion Miguel Vazquez (42-9, 16 KOs) also takes to the ring for the first time in 2020 for this bout. The Mexican fighter has a wealth of experience from his long career at the top level but his best days are well behind him and he has lost four of his last seven contests.

Lewis Ritson was originally hoping to be taking on Vazquez on his home patch in Newcastle but after two postponed bouts they now go head-to-head in Peterborough. The venue change won’t deter Ritson though, he is hungry for success and knows that an impressive showing here will lead him on to bigger and better things. Ritson is tipped to deliver and come through this bout successfully, but he will find it difficult to earn a stoppage win against an experienced and awkward opponent who has only been stopped twice in his career and this bout is predicted to go to the judges’ scorecards.
