32-year-old John Riel Casimero (30-4) has won his last six bouts and he will be confident of making it seven victories in a row as he defends his WBO world bantamweight title. The Philippine has not only shown his quality in his recent bouts but also his power with all of those six wins coming by means of a KO, meaning 21 of his 30 successes have come by that method.
Lightly fought 40-year-old Guillermo Rigondeaux (20-1) has only lost to one opponent during his career so far with Vasyl Lomachenko getting the better of him in their 2017 bout. However, he has done well since that bout with the Cuban winning his next three with his latest seeing him clinch the vacant WBA world bantamweight title against Liborio Solis.
THE PREDICTION
This fight could conceivably go either way with both John Riel Casimero and Gulliermo Rigondeaux boasting strong claims here. They are both relatively small but at just 5’4”, Casimero will have to overcome a three-inch difference in height to overcome his opponent.
