Errol Spence Jr. (26-0, 21 KO) is back in the ring for the first time since has was injured in a horrendous high-speed car accident in October 2019, shortly after his victory over Shawn Porter. The WBC and IBF welterweight champion was rightfully regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world prior to that incident and it remains to be seen if he will be back to his best here against a very tough opponent.
Former two-weight world champion Danny Garcia (36-2, 21 KO) was last in action in January 2020 when he outpointed the Ukrainian fighter Ivan Redkach in New York. That was Garcia’s second win in a row since he lost the WBC welterweight belt to Shawn Porter via the judges’ scorecards. His only other defeat in the pro ranks came in a world title fight against Keith Thurman back in 2017.
