THE LOWDOWN
Daniel Dubois (15-0, 14 KOs) showed no signs of rustiness on his return to action in August when he stopped the Dutch fighter Ricardo Snijders in the second round of their bout. That win extended his unbeaten record to 15-0 - with ten of those wins coming inside of the opening two rounds. Dubois has claimed a host of titles in a short time since turning professional in April 2017. His British, Commonwealth and WBC silver heavyweight belts are on the line here along with the vacant European title.
Joe Joyce (11, 10 KOs) also returned to the ring for the first time in the summer of 2020 with an early stoppage victory. His win in the third round against Michael Wallisch in July was his 10th KO in 11 fights – seven of those have come within the first three rounds. The experienced American fighter Bryant Jennings is the only man to have gone the distance with Joyce so far in the Londoner’s professional career.
THE PREDICTION
This is a highly anticipated bout between two exciting unbeaten British heavyweights and hopefully the fight should live up to the hype. Both men have plenty of stoppage wins on their respective records and so it would be no surprise if this contest does not last the full 12 scheduled rounds. Dubois seemingly has the advantage in terms of speed and power, both factors which might prove to be pivotal in the final outcome and he is favoured to prevail with a win by KO/TKO.
