THE LOWDOWN
Daniel Dubois (15-1, 14 KO) is aiming to get his career back on track with a victory against Bogdan Dinu as he returns to the ring for the for the first time since he suffered a devastating defeat against fellow British boxer Joe Joyce last November. Dubois is apparently fully healed from the bad eye injury which he sustained in the bout against Joyce and he’s determined to bounce straight back to winning ways with a victory which would see him capture the vacant WBA Interim heavyweight title.
Bogdan Dinu (20-2, 16 KO) was last in action back in October 2020 when he stopped Germany’s Frank Bluemle within the first two rounds of their bout in Bulgaria. That was Dinu’s second win in a row since he lost back-to-back fights against Jarrell Miller and Kubrat Pulev. Aside from Miller and Pulev it is fair to say that the list of opponents on Dinu’s record are considered to be low-calibre boxers.
THE PREDICTION
Daniel Dubois returns to competitive action with a point to prove following his loss against Joe Joyce at the back end of last year. There has obviously been plenty of positive talk coming from his camp with regards to how the eye injury is completely healed and that he is more determined than ever to rise to the top of the division. Prior to his loss against Joyce, there was no doubting the ability of Dubois and one expects him to get the job done here. Both of Bogan Dinu’s defeats have come via stoppage and the same fate looks set to await him here against the heavy-hitting British heavyweight star.
