THE LOWDOWN

Chris Eubank Jr. (29-2, 22 KO) is in action for the first time since he stopped Matt Korobov in the second round of their bout in New York in early December 2019 – that was his third win in succession since he lost against George Groves in February 2018. Eubank Jr. has made a significant change since the Korobov fight as he has been working with the boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. and he states that Jones Jr. has already had a huge impact on his mentality in the ring.

Marcus Morrison (23-3, 16 KO) may have won seven fights in a row since he lost against Alistair Warren in June 2018, but it has to be said that he has fought nobody of Eubank Jr’s calibre so this is definitely a huge step up in class for the boxer from Manchester. His most notable victory came against former world title challenger Emanuele Blandamura in July 2019, aside from that win against the Italian he has mainly faced low-level opponents.

Chris Eubank Jr. returns to the ring looking to make up for lost time as this is his first bout since late 2019 and it would be a huge surprise if he were to slip up against Marcus Morrison on Saturday night in Manchester. This looks like an easy match-up on paper for the Eubank Jr. and he is likely to take care of his opponent with little fuss. A win via KO/TKO for Eubank Jr. is the betting tip.
