Last year’s beaten grand finalists Western Bulldogs were unable to earn revenge for that loss to Melbourne as they suffered defeat against the same side in round one of the new campaign. The Bulldogs were competitive but were found wanting in the second half as they failed to capitalise on a half-time lead.
